Quickly becoming one of Europe’s premier travel destinations, Slovenia offers everything that you dream about when thinking of an Alps getaway and then some. A small country with a big personality, adventuring through Slovenia has become one of our favorite destinations because of it’s natural beauty and friendly locals, join us and experience the best of Slovenia!
Day 1: Ljubljana, Bohinj
Torno Group leaders will pick you up in Ljubljana where we will head north and into the Julian Alps!
We will start with a nice half day hike and a swim in the mountain lake to get our bodies moving and ready for the week
Day 3 - 4: Bohinj, Triglav
We will spend these next couple days exploring the beauty of the high mountains around Triglav, Slovenia’s highest peak. If the weather is right, we may have a chance at the summit! Amazing local food and refreshments throughout these days will make them active and memorable.
Day 5 - 6: Sella Nevea, Bovec
We will spend some time on the Italian side of the border, for the food and also for the slightly different culture and atmosphere. There are some amazing via ferrata hikes in this area that we will have a chance to experience and some great restaurants where we will have the chance to indulge after hiking!
Day 7 - 8: Wine Country, South West Slovenia
We will move to the Southern side of the Julian Alps in the Soca River Valley. This area is incredibly gorgeous and we will have a chance to hike, eat great local food at our favorite restaurants, and sample wine from the lower valley!
Day 9 - 10: Ljubljana
In the last couple days of the trip we will explore more of the wine region, located on the border with Italy. This area is known for it’s unique white wines and gives us an opportunity to soak in the entire trip while kicking back in the beautiful vineyards.
Wrapping up
At the end of the trip, Torno Group leaders can drop you in Ljubljana for a flight out, or at any train or bus station if you wish to continue your trip on your own somewhere else. After 10 days in Slovenia you will have a great understanding of the mountains, the culture, and why this is area that we have travelled through is such and undiscovered gem!
